Plugins: plugin loader 'python' was not found

All python plugins in gedit are disabled and if I try to enable those gedit throw a warning. Its output in terminal is the following:

(gedit:30739): libpeas-WARNING **: Could not find loader 'python' for plugin 'gdpformat

$ python --version
Python 2.7.6

$ gedit --version
gedit - Version 3.10.4

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04

$ apt-cache policy gedit
