Bug Description
In Mageia 5 (Cauldron) with gtk+3_0-3.13.2 the the tray icon left click has stopped working. It also affects gnote.
Reverting to 3.12.x restores it.
I have reported this to gtk + bug tracker, however I'm sure you will be able to add more useful info to that bug report if you can reproduce this ;)
I have confirmed this for both applications in a clean Cauldron VM.

There is no error reported in the terminal when launching onboard from cli and left clicking the icon.

Same here on Cauldron. I was about to comment, but apparently it was fixed already. I can't tell which commit it was, though. No mention of the bug or GtkStatusIcon.
