Bug Description
I have found 3 issues with the new hardware database collection module:
1) When I told it to run the collection submission process, it informed me that
I needed to install a package. Why doesn't it simply ask me if I'd like to
install this package and automatically take me into Synaptic to download it? I
knew what to do to get it, but this process could be more user
friendly-
2) There are numerous spelling errors on the HWDB collection description:
a. Ubuntu should be capitalized like "Ubuntu" not "ubuntu".
b. First sentence should read "This is the Ubuntu hardware database
collection tool. It obtains all possible data about your hardware, performs
certain self-tests, and asks you some questions about the autodetected values.
c. I believe "webbased" should be changed to "web-based" or "web based".
d. "ressource" misspelled...should be "resource".
e. Put a period after "hardware" in the Online Submission section to form a
complete sentence.
f. Change Improvement section text to read "Based on the collected data,
fine tuning for autodetection and improvements in hardware support can be
facilitated with Ubuntu developers. If you open this application in the future,
it will direct you to the online data of your machine.
Sorry if I sound harsh...and if I made any spelling errors ;) Since I have
little knowledge of programming, I wanted to assist Ubuntu with documentation
and other areas of development.
Sorry, I forgot the most important bug #6763. The module failed to respond when I
selected "Forward" to proceed. I had to cancel the process. This has the
potential to be a valuable asset to Ubuntu...keep up the good work.
