Bug Description
System is booting up. Then I see ubuntu logo. Then it disappears and screen is blinking during one second. Then I see the message in the window like 'System can't start in full graphical mode'.
I press 'ok' button. And I see window which asks me to decide which action to do next: 'proceed load in recovery graphics mode', 'restore settings', 'archive logs', 'see startup error messages' etc...
So I decided to archive logs and I've attached them to this bug report.
I also tried to restore settings by clicking on corresponding menu item in the window. But when I click 'OK' after recovery option selection nothing happens.
When I am clicked on menu item with message like 'proceed with recovery graphical mode' ( I don't remember correct messages text ) then system asks me to wait for minute and seems hangs.
After one or two tries to recover xorg settings from recovery mode I can boot up again.
I've met this issues for the first time after I've removed nvidia drivers. Why have I deleted them? :) Because brightness adjustment was available in too small brightness range.
Vasiliy Pedak, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg 1327958
Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.
As well, given the information from the prior release is already available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.
