Windows attached to panel instead of own title bar

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I'm a noob, but from what i can gather, the 'windows' part of the gui seems to fail to load correctly.
All new windows open cascading from the panel instead of in their own movable window with title bar. When i looked for window display options and found them, i got an error saying that something could not be loaded etc.
I'm sure a reinstall might fix this, but i have had 2 reinstalls allready for other user error problems and im not looking forward to a third

Thanks
