Bug Description

Want to record with audacity but there is no voice input. With the rc2 upstream-kernel the microphone was working as it should; in the rc8 again no voice.

Can you test some of the newer release candidates[0] from rc3 up to rc8 to identify the exact rc where the regression was introduced? Once we know the last good and first bad kernels, we can bisect to find the commit that introduced the regression.

I am also having the same problem of microphone not working. Running ubuntu 14.04 with 3.15 rc7 kernel. My laptop is Asus X550LC

This same bug with the same hardware exists. I have a fresh install of kubuntu 14.0.1 fully updated and I have this issue on my X550L laptop.

A, "Me too!" comments are simply not helpful. If you want your issue address, file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into the default Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux

X550L same issue here. But my sound working perfectly but audio input like a heal. Some times it work perfect. But when after sleep and resume it same trouble again So what to do solve this.
