Bug Description

This is a companion bug for LightDM itself bug #1325545. It would be useful to allow one to customize the guest session credentials. A special use case for this feature is in school labs where guest accounts are often used for generic student login, so changing the credentials to show "Student" instead of "Guest" would be desirable.

Frankly, I think (if at all) this should be done in lightdm, not the greeter. The greeter isn't really meant to interact with stuff like creating new users or homes temporarily, it's only an interface to log in with lightdm.

Simon, you're absolutely right. This is why I've opened bug #1325545 for lightdm itself.

However, there's something that needs to be done in the greeter: currently the "Guest Session" display name is hardcoded. See here:
