Items not appearing in menu

Default launchers like Software Update do not appear in Whisker Menu nor in Applications Menu although "Hide from menu" is turned off.

Supplementary remarks:

* However, these items appear in category "All" in Whisker Menu.
* Launchers created by myself do appear in the menus, but they do not disappear when "Hide from menu" is turned on.

It affects Xubuntu 14.04 x64 too. Fresh install, all updates applied.

This is not a bug in menulibre, but an issue in the way whiskermenu is set up. Currently, it doesn't show items from the settings category. We added that back in 14.10, as those items from the settings-manager aren't visible in 14.04.

I'm not sure whether we can backport a fix for 14.04 really, I think we can only give instructions on how to get everything from the settings-category back into the menu, right Sean?

Just to be clear, in 14.04 items are *either* shown in the menu *or* in the settings manager, but never in both.
In 14.10, items will be shown in the menu *and* the settings manager.

Hi. I manage to show all those items and many others that were not marked as hidden but did't show in the menu following the procedure I posted here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/menulibre/+bug/1362452/comments/2 (maybe is a related problem)
