after last update to vmlinuz-3.13.0-27, unity not working

after last update from 3.13.0-24 to vmlinuz-3.13.0-27, my desktop did not show unity and had a lower resolution.
I am running with NVIDIA binary driver 331.

Only when choosing from GRUB the previous version 3.13.0-24, I could login as usual.
Currently GRUB is pointing to this release, not the latest.

I have HP Pavilion g7-1202er. After update from 3.13.0-24 to 3.13.0-27 (or 3.13.0-29.53) and reboot my notebook, unity not working (black screen). Please, fix it.

However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request.

  With the recent release of this Ubuntu release, would like to confirm if this bug is still present. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released.

If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging.

I have HP Pavilion g7-1202er, Ubuntu 14.04. After update from 3.13.0-24 to 3.13.0-27 (or 3.13.0-29.53) and reboot my notebook, unity not working (black screen). I pressed CTRL+ALT+F1 and typed sudo apt-get update, sudo ap-get upgrade, sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, reinstalled the driver on my radeon-6800, reinstalled Ubuntu-desktop, compiz and unity but nothing helped. Please, fix it.

I also have still same issue after performing dist-upgrade as requested.

I try to explain what I see :
I get to the login screen, but the resolution is all wrong, and when I login, there is only the wallpaper.
Fallback to gnome is not working neither.
Everything is ok when I point in Grub to 3.13.0-24.

today after installing kernel update, everything is working again, running with 3.13.0-29 now
