Bug Description

I just update im-config to ver. 0.24-1ubuntu4.1, so I can input Chinese word in webapp now, like Amazon webapp client (previous version not support )

But, when I input Chinese word via ibus pinyin method, words were duplicated. I always got double what I typed.
For example, input '好', show '好好', input '你好', show '你好你好'.

I think this is new issue for this package.

Thanks for reporting this bug. But what makes you think it's an issue with im-config? Are words duplicated also when you type in e.g. LibreOffice or gedit?

Also I'm not sure if this is Qt5 related, say there's also possibility that the Qt5 IM Module of IBus doesn't work well...

I'm not sure this is an issue with im-config. I just updated im-config package then make me can input Chinese words in webapp. so I guess that maybe related.

In LiberOffice software, gedit, web browser(chrome and firefox) and other softwares I used, It never happened, I can input Chinese words correctly.
I only met this problem in webapp (Amazon webapp and Telegram Unity Webapp).

Sorry, I don't know how to judge this issue belongs to im-config or webbrowser-app package.
I hope I can provide the necessary information to help fix it.

@Gino: Can you please test with some other IM engine, e.g. ibus-sunpinyin, and let us know if the problem exists with that engine as well?

@Gunnar: You are right, I tested ibus-sunpinyin (Chinese sunpinyin), using it input some Chinese words in webapp, It dose work well, doesn't have this problem.

Input Chinese word in webapp via ibus, in summary:
ibus-sunpinyin sunpinyin engine for ibus, version: 2.0.3-5build1, works correctly
ibus-pinyin and ibus-bopomofo in pinyin engine for ibus, version: 1.5.0-1ubuntu1 , words are duplicated

My system: Ubuntu 14.04 64bit

So, does it mean this issue belongs to im-config?

Hi, the new package of im-config just enables "ibus" in QT5 apps in this case. You saw this issue only in combination of ibus and pinyin, I will mark this affects ibus-pinyin not im-config for now.

affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) → ibus-pinyin (Ubuntu)
Changed in im-config (Ubuntu):
status: Incomplete → Invalid
