Please include the Auth Request module in the nginx-extras package

Hello, I would like to request that the Auth Request module be added to the nginx-extras package in Trusty. This module is a necessity for one of my projects, and I would very much appreciate being able to use a standard package rather than compile nginx myself.

Hello, after purging my existing nginx packages (all of them, nginx-*) and installing nginx-extras, the Auth Request module was not enabled. On the package description, this is one of the modules provided. After compiling nginx myself I was able to enable the Auth Request module, so I can confirm that the module itself works on my system.

Based on the package description for nginx-extras in the control file in Trusty (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/trusty/nginx/trusty/view/head:/debian/control), there is no listing for the "Auth Request" module. This seems to be supported by the rules file that governs building this package (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/trusty/nginx/trusty/view/head:/debian/rules#L123).

Where did you see this being in the package description?

I confused the Debian package with the Ubuntu package, my apologies. Could this be changed into a request for Auth Request to be included in nginx-extras? Or shall I file a new bug?

We can just modify this bug to say that this is a feature request, Trevor. I did that for the title.

Can you modify your description to request the Auth Request module being added, and give us a brief description of what that module does?

We will not be adding additional modules to any of the flavors. On the roadmap for NGINX in later releases is dynamically-loadable modules. For Trusty, we are not changing existing functionality.

If you need other modules we don't provide, you will need to recompile nginx yourself.
