Restore extremely slow in backintime-gnome

Bug Description

OS: Debian 7.5
Backintime version: 1.0.10

When I try to restore a few thousand files, the process seems to take ages, actually I could not wait for it to terminate.
I believe the problem is in the gnome GUI collecting the log information, the same as what is described here: https://answers.launchpad.net/backintime/+question/213871

If I edit /usr/share/backintime/gnome/restoredialog.py and comment out the logging code in the callback() method, then the restoration speed becomes reasonable.

Please optimize the relevant code or if it is not possible, then provide a way to bypass the log collection.
