Bug Description
Inkscape trunk 0.91 (Lubuntu 12.04 LTS - IBM Thinkpad-T40 - 1GBRam)
Fonts dialog Box-UI (UI=User interface) behave in a strange way.
- Very buggy when [ALT+X] to pick the desired font. Take to much time to open the dialog and when open it is very big, or just crash.
- Oversize the the dialog window when [SHIFT+CTRL+T], the dialog box is to big, and you can't do nothing.

Based on the descriptions it seems that you chose to install (or compile) an experimental GTK3 build, instead of the regular (still GTK2-based) version. The issue with the oversized width of the 'Text and Font' dialog with experimental GTK3 builds is already tracked here:
