mihgen: does it reproduce locally?

[9:03pm] mihgen: ok, I move it out of 5.0 then, but it is still critical to fix. involve devops engineers into troubleshooting..
moving this bug to 5.1.

We have npm installed both globally and locally on that server

[jenkins@fuelweb nailgun]$ npm -v
1.2.15
[jenkins@fuelweb nailgun]$ /usr/bin/npm -v
1.3.3

And 'npm install' fails with the error above, while '/usr/bin/npm install' works with no problems.
