Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I tried to install Gutsy from the daily alternate amd64 CD for August 12. The installation failed with a message no valid kernel image was found.
Syslog says: E: Unable to locate any package files, perhaps this is not a Debian Disc

- md5sum shows no errors on the CD.
- second installation attempt also failed, with same error message.
- Re-installation of tribe 4 was successful, so this doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

Attached is the syslog from the failed installation (blue installation menu --> shell --> copied syslog)

This is also a problem in daily CD's for Aug 13 and 14.

The syslog also shows a segfault for mount:
Aug 12 12:05:24 kernel: [ 179.242761] mount[22675]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 000000000042fd83 rsp 00007fff0d700e98 error 4

The failing daily CD's all use mount_2.13~rc3-2ubuntu2_amd64
The working Tribe 4 CD has mount_2.12r-19ubuntu3_amd64

Tested again with daily CD Aug 17, which has the new mount package 2.13~rc3-5_amd64.
This failed again, with same error message as before.

Seeing same kind of problem with AMD64 last daily in a vmware server virtual machine. Live CD install seems to work.

This was caused by bug 131961, and should be fixed now. (The version of mount.deb is irrelevant; it's the version of busybox that's installed in the initrd that matters.)
