close buttons & borders not correctly displayed in Gutsy tribe 4

compiz (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

There seems to be NO diagonal closing X and other functions in the diagonals/windows in Gutsy tribe 4 and the borders around the diagonal also seem to be missing and do not seem to have the ability to resize the diagonals.

Seems to still need a bit of work.

Thanks.

Thank you for your bug. What window manager and theme do you use? Could you make a screenshot and attach it to the bug?

I use what ever the system default is for Gnome, I don't change this
stuff. I will see if I can attach a screenshot to the bug report.

Looks like there is no window manager running. What videocard are you using? Does it work if you don't use desktop effects?

This bug seems to still be present in Tribe 5 just the same as it was in Tribe 4.

Thanks.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Is this a installed system or do you run it from the lifecd? Could you please attach the file "~/.xsession-errors" to this report?

Thanks,

I have a similar problem, although I don't know if it's the same. Turning on Compiz n Gutsy doesn't draw window borders. The window decoration plugin can be turned on and off but all it does is enable and disable shadows. Moving, resizing, etc. works with Alt+mouse button, the windows wobble, there is a desktop cube, etc. but no window borders.

I am experiencing the same symptoms on Tribe 5 when I enable Normal and Extra Desktop Effects. However everything works fine with no effects. My display driver is radeon.

Then there must be something wrong with the default being setup by the
O/S for these drivers because I have made NO changes regarding any
Normal and/or Extra Desktop Effects.

Thanks.

If you don't care about desktop effects, you can disable them in
System → Preferences → Appearance → Visual Effects → None

Could you please attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I have the same problem with missing borders as showen on wpshooters screenshot, with my nvidia geforce 3 ti 500

I figured out that I need to manuel add the following to xorg.conf
 Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"

under -> Section "Device"

There must be a way to fix this, without having to edit xorg.conf manuel.

This is fixed in the latest version of Gutsy which I currently have
installed, at least for my ATI Radeon 9600 card.
