Keep seeing error 'NoneType' object has no attribute '__getitem__'

I see this fairly regularly, and it seems to go away on the next run.

Anyone any ideas?

lava_test_shell should have received the STARTRUN signal before any TESTCASE signal, but if you look at https://validation.linaro.org/scheduler/job/124040/log_file#L_233_26 you will see that the STARTRUN signal was corrupted by kernel messages got in the way.

Unfortunately we have no "easy" solution for this ATM.
