$ apt-cache show totem-plugins | grep -i youtube
    * Search, browse for and play videos from YouTube

$ dpkg -L totem-plugins | grep -i youtube

This is for totem-plugins 3.10.1-1ubuntu4

I uploaded but I didn't fix this, sorry. It'd be helpful if you (anyone) could provide a branch which reconciles the package description with its contents. :)

I did mention this several times in relevant bug report(s) & in review, no matter.
I don't have branch but attached is a suggested change to control.in/control

Keep in mind that the plugin is totally busted, on 14.04 it returns results but no playback, in 14.10 it's an outright segfault in browse or search
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/1326780
(if someone could clean up & make public I'll consider sending upstream though not sure how much attention as gnome devs are well past 3.10 & don't use ubuntu

Nix cleaning segfault bug as no longer an issue - now it is the same as 14.04 - doesn't work

Thank you for providing a debdiff. Two comments:
 * debian/changelog is much too terse with 'Adjust control.in'. This should be more descriptive, such as 'debian/control.in: adjust descriptions for youtube...'
 * changing the description is of course fine, however other comments in this bug suggest that the plugin is completely broken or crashes. Shouldn't this code either be fixed or not shipped?

Please adjust debian/changelog and comment on whether the code should be shipped at all. Unsubscribing ubuntu-sponsors for now. Please feel free to resubscribe after making these changes. Thanks!

The actual problem with the grilo plugin for youtube was in totem-pl-parser. This has been fixed in totem-pl-parser (3.10.3-1) but considering totem in 14.04 doesn't have grilo enabled then a bit of a moot point.
