Bug Description

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Edition
Xorg Version 1:7.7+1ubuntu8

While using the tty 2 terminal (Ctrl + Alt + F2), I started an apt-get process to install a few packages. While the system was working the screen went black after 5 minuites (Like it is ment to), however when a key was pressed to wake up the computer, there was a breif flash then nothing. Luckaly it was still downloading and I was able to stop it (Using ^C) and type "sudo reboot". The system rebooted without a problem. I expected the X display to restart like it is supposed to.

gamerb, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg 1313002

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information. As well, please note given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
