Bug Description

"Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal."

Which I did. I will try cleaning up the apt-get to see if this helps but would appreciate any advice otherwise. Thanks!

lsb_release shows 13.10
apt-catche policy pkgname returns "N: unable to locate package pkgname"

I expected to be able to upgrade (as I can on my other 3 Ubuntu laptops) but this one won't and I get the error message posted above.
