Delay before compilation of any latex document in TeXmaker

Bug Description
When you hit F1 or click on the compilation button in TeXmaker, whatever the kind of compilation is chosen (latex or pdflatex), it takes 1 to 4 seconds before the compilation actually happens. Sometimes, it causes the TeXmaker window to fade out and then fade in again.
This happens on TeXmaker 4.1 in Ubuntu 14.04 and does not happen in TeXmaker 3.2 in Ubuntu 12.04.
Compiling a latex document within a terminal shows no delay.
