Bug Description

After upgrade to 14.04, sound indicator used to work but then suddenly disappeared. Logout/login/reboot and cleaning pulse directories doesn't help. Sound indicator still works on the login screen though.

From .cache/upstart/indicator-sound.log:

(process:5579): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

** (process:6534): CRITICAL **: volume_control_set_volume_internal: assertion '_tmp1_ == PA_CONTEXT_READY' failed

** (process:6534): CRITICAL **: file /build/buildd/indicator-sound-12.10.2+14.04.20140401/obj-x86_64-linux-gnu/src/volume-control.c: line 1775: uncaught error: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: No such interface (g-dbus-error-quark, 16)

The last of the errors

seems to disappear after installing

   accountsservice-ubuntu-schemas

Still doesn't work, though.

I've had the exact same problem, and only realized that the "Show sound volume in the menu bar" option in System Settings > Sound was somehow unchecked after Skype was installed. I got the third error after trying to reinstall pulseaudio to fix the problem, but it was gone after accountsservice-ubuntu-schemas was installed.
