Bug Description

lightdm stop working properly after I upgrade Xubuntu from 12.04 to 14.04. In my auth.log file I find "shows lightdm: pam_time(lightdm:account): field too long - ignored". I recover normal behaviour of lightdm with an old version (1.1.3) of pam_time.so. Thanks CG

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

By default, lightdm in Ubuntu is not configured to use pam_time. So you seem to have a non-default PAM config, as well as a non-default /etc/security/time.conf. Please attach the latter file.

I had this line in my time.conf file "*;*;childrens;Al 1700-1945" to
controle computer time access for my childrens. It works with older
versions of xubuntu but not with 14.04. The only way to recover session
controle access is to use an old version of pan_time. Any change in the
sources of this module ?

Thanks
