Bug Description
I had previously been using fingerprint-gui on a laptop with a built-in fingerprint reader and had been quite happy with it.
I just acquired a Microsoft fingerprint reader with ID 045e:00bd. Fingerprint-gui recognizes the device, and when I attempt to enroll fingerprints will pick up the first fingerprint I attempt to scan on a given invocation of fingerprint-gui (fingerprint-gui displays a fingerprint icon with a green checkmark by it). However, subsequent attempts to scan a fingerprint fail until I exit and restart fingerprint-gui (fingerprint-gui just continues to display a fingerprint icon with an hourglass by it, and the hourglass never changes to a checkmark as with the first scan). As fingerprint-gui requires multiple scans per finger to enroll a fingerprint, I am unable to enroll any fingerprints, even though the device and its driver seem to be working fine, as evidenced by the fact that the first fingerprint in a session is scanned.
I stupidly forgot to include details on my setup: The machine I'm using the fingerprint reader with is a new desktop (not the laptop I mentioned in my original post) running Ubuntu 14.04 and fingerprint-gui 1.05-dfsg2- 0ppa2~trusty1 from the ppa.
