There is no proper logfile for Mythfrontend

Bug Description

There is no real log file for mythfrontend. This is bad, IMHO, since .xsession-error might not provide all information/context needed to debug a problem properly. Since mythfrontend supports different log levels (see mythfrontend -v help), it might be a good idea to make them configurable (maybe in /etc/default/mythfrontend or so). Logrotate support would help to keep disk usage down.

I double this.

One of the good things about Linux and open source software in general, is that it usually "talks" to you, helping greatly in debugging.

Let MythTV talk to us in a proper place! :o)

I'll take care ofn this by adding a logfile in /var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log

Quick status update for superm1:

This is commited in the trunk branch, but I haven't committed/ported it to the -fixes branch yet. It shouldn't be a problem to port it, I just hanve't done it yet.

Also, those changes are untested (by me), but AFAIK they were shipped with latest trunk and I haven't heard any complaints yet. If you look at the code, there's not much that can break. If you want, you can commit them to -fixes.

There's still a small problem in the -fixes packages, see Bug #144541 for that.

Closing this.

This was broken when we moved to Xfce. Re-opening.

NB: it still works if you use ubuntu-mythtv-frontend.
