Bug Description

My keyboard is not recognized at the initial prompt to unencrypt my harddrive's full-disk encryption if I boot into kernel 3.13.0-24. If I instead boot kernel 3.13.0-23, my keyboard is recognized.

Can you give the latest 3.13 upstream kernel a test, which can be downloaded from:

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.10-trusty/

I'd love to, but I don't know what to do. Is there documentation?

There is some documentation here:
 https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds

You basically need to downloade the following .deb package and install it:
linux-image-3.13.10-031310-generic_3.13.10-031310.201404141115_amd64.deb

To install the .deb run the following from a terminal after downloading it:
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-3.13.10-031310-generic_3.13.10-031310.201404141115_amd64.deb

Then reboot, which will load that kernel.

It seems like the problem is hardware-based instead, as I've been able to decrypt version 24 for the last several days with no issues.

For clarification: I think it's a problem with the keyboard on my laptop, not the kernel.
