Bug Description

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

When /etc/network/interfaces is empty (or all commented out) as the documentation say it should be, then knetworkmanager detects a wireless network and offers it as an option. However in order to use an encrypted network, it is necessary to configure it (again as it should be). BUT this configuration is then written to /etc/network/interfaces so on subsequent logins only the wired network is offered.

[In addition on attempting the connection I got a series of messages in /var/log/messages that the key was invalid -- although if I quit knetworkmanager and use the same key with "ifup eth1" it works just fine. I'm not sure if this is a separate bug or related.]

Using: Kubuntu Feisty on an iBook G3 with original Airport wireless card.
knetworkmanager version: 0.1 (KDE 3.5.6)

I have a fixed IP wired connection in my interfaces, which essentially causes the same problem: KNetworkManager does not offer wireless anymore even though Roaming is enabled for the wireless.
