Gramps XML import/export

It would be helpful to have an import/export feature for Gramps XML file format:

I use Webtrees in order to work with other persons, but to keep local Gramps and remote Webtrees synchronised, I have to manually replicate all modifications back from Webtrees to Gramps database, and then, from Gramps, export to GED and import that file into Webtrees again.

I believe that if Gramps XML would be supported, we could merge the benefits of both softwares (coworking with Webtrees, and quick and featurefull editing with Gramps).

I don't understand how this would fix the problem of merging changes made in two applications at the same time.

A diff on both XML files could allow to highlight and merge the differences.

Actually, most of the times, when there is a change to merge from one database, the other has not be changed in the meantime, so a simple overwrite would be enough.

I think this is too much effort for too little reward.

If there was a third-party library which did the conversion, then we could integrate it. But no such library exists.
