Bug Description

When told to instal the new system along side the old system, a window pops up where the new and old partitions can be sized. Ubiquity seems to do nothing after that, it just sits there with the disc mouse pointer spinning. Checking with Menu->Accessories->Disks shows that the old partitioning remains unchanged even after many minutes.

Bug is present in Trusty 20140722.2.

Auto resizing window shows the new partition, and the partitions can be changed by dragging, but the install button is grayed out and doesn't function.

In 14.04.2 this bug exists. The slider can move and show the planned sizes of the partitions, but the button "Install Now" remains greyed out and unavailable.

Some time ago I had a similar issue, for some reason the installer would not automatically unmount earlier created still active/ mounted partitions (older test installations), and would later report an error or simply fail to proceed, back then it somehow worked to go a step back, reinit hardware and disk detection after which as far as I can remember it would come up with a prompt to unload active partitions and you could continue partitioning.

Is this only with PPC? Can anyone confirm on any other arch? Is anything active? Someone should run `top` and see what's going on.

I don't see this bug on the AMD64 14.04.2 image from 2015-02-18, but it has been around for a while on PPC

On the PPC Desktop image from 2016-02-16, this seems to still exist. The slider for the resizing appears and can be moved around but the "Continue" button remains greyed out and never becomes available.

Still present in Lubuntu 14.04.5 LTS. Manual resizing works however.
