Bug Description

I was talking over Skype using Logitech USB cam and then clicked a link to watch youtube video, system became unresponsive with video looking frozen. Had to switch back to console (Ctrl+F1) and kill both Firefox and Skype. Then got back to X (Ctrl+F7) and it started working again like nothing happened.

do your USB audio really support 12dB/3072 per step ? (1/256 dB)

This is Logitech USB cam, I've plugged it in and used puaucontrol to switch Skype to use it then adjusted mic a bit, could be that Skype also tried to do it's best to control mic volume in parallel to my manual adjustments.

Yes indeed I have jack detection problems, no idea why. But it doesn't auto detects jacks on Windows 8 too (without installing proprietary drivers and SoundMax software).

>>seem occur after suspend and resume

USB cam was attached to the running machine, maybe suspend/resume cycle took place, not sure about that.

Thanks for feedback, I wasn't hoping anyone would look at my bug report!

follow up on jack detection.
I've opened git link and it looks like the fix is in 3.12 kernel, but I'm running default ubuntu 3.11 kernel, not sure if that fix was backported by kernel devs/ubuntu kernel team into 3.11. Anyways 14.04 is almost here, and it would run 3.13 kernel.

yes,
it affects me also. I have installed skype in ubuntu 14.04 and when I use my logitech webcam for a video call, ubuntu freezes and I can no longer see dash or any panel (probably x crashes). I don't have installed any additional drivers and skype was working ok until ubuntu 13.10 so there is something wrong with libraries or skype itself..
It also happens when I 'm watching a youtube video. Please fix it.
Also, this is my first bug report and I don't really know what error log to send, please tell me what to post
thanks..
