no network indicator in xfce panel xubuntu 14.04

Bug Description

even after the last updates, still no network indicator on xfce panel. Didnt have the problem with 13.10. I had to install wicd to operate on my wireless network.

I have two users in my system.
One user gets the network indicator, the other one doesn't.
If I run:
$ sudo nm-applet
the indicator starts correctly.

Solution is to add an "Indicator Plugin" to the xfce panel.
Probably has been removed during the upgrade.
