firefox crashes when i open another window or tab that has a media clip in the link

using latest gusty with firefox 2.0.0.6. it also happens with a5 of firefox 3.

Could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions
on [1], or upload the crash report that probably was generated during
the crash and that should be located at /var/crash/ to [2].

Please indicate which extensions/plugins do you have enabled; and if
this crash is reproducible describe the steps that lead to it (it is
very important for us to have a test case for each crash).

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

the above crashes resulted from clicking on a link that had an open document file associated with the link. It is supposed to launch open office when i do this but instead crashes the browser. it does it every time so you should be able to duplicate it. hope this helps.

Instead of "_usr_bin_restricted-manager.1000.crash" check if there is a _usr_lib_firefox_firefox_bin.1000.crash file in /var/crash. It should be several Mb of size as it contains the firefox crash coredump file.

Here is another problem. When I get an email with a photograph attached and click to download it, the browswer opens a window with nothing in it and just hangs.

Not that i recall but i am already working in Hardy--so gusty is the past for me.
