Binary package hint: hal
sound ok with windows... didn't work with feisty and so doesn't work on gutsy...
i was thinking alsa 1.0.14 should solve the problem... :(

I've also got a Toshiba P100. In order to get sound under Feisty, you need to correct your DSDT, following instructions at this address : (http:// sle.homelinux. net/wiki/ doku.php? id=ubuntu- 7.04:dsdt (it's in french...).
The HDA Intel chipset will then start gracefully thanks to the DSDT correction but, under Gutsy, this doesn't work anymore : there is a regression concerning this sound chip and I have found no solution as of now.
