Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
> What led up to the situation?
Don't know. Mostly when upgrading the packages a lot of these errors will be
logged in /var/log/messages.
> What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
No, idea. Just apt-get upgrade the system.
> What was the outcome of this action?
Many error messages logged in the /var/log/message file:

Margarita Manterola, is the linked debian bug similar to what you reported earlier today on IRC?
The mentioned trivial reproducer on Debian, seems to succeed on Ubuntu, e.g.: ld-linux- x32.so. 2
It's easier to reproduce than that:
$ /libx32/
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Does not fail with core dump on up to date Trusty.
