Bug Description

I see all the wireless signals in the neighborhood, but the connect button does not connect my laptop to the internet. Also, history seems lost, as it reports that my wifi has never been used, when it was in use a few minutes before.

Same issue here. I'm on an Asus VivoPC with rtl8821ae wireless card which has just been included in the 14.04 kernel.

Network manager shows wireless as disabled, no connections available, can't enable it.
It also shows that it's not connected to anything, even if my wired connection seems to be working fine.

It could also be related to this:
https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?65082-systemd-update-screwed-up-policy-kit-network-manager-and-muon-qapt

since I was also unable to mount any external drives (ntfs or otherwise) or restart/shutdown the pc.

Everything (wireless and permissions) seems to have fixed after I installed the `cgmanager` and `qdbus-qt5` packages.

After adding cgmanager, qt4-default, and qdbus-qt5, all is back to normal with wifi. I am also once again able to mount my phone with Dolphin, and my soundcard is again correctly detected.

Marking as Invalid; since this wasn't really a bug in NetworkManager.

Changed in network-manager (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
