Bug Description
The integration code seems to be resetting my launcher count every now and then, and I never see a message count even when I have new & unread messages in my inbox.

Unable to reproduce on trunk.
New unread messages cause message count indicator to display number of new messages. Reading new messages causes message count indicator to clear; showing no new messages are available.
Tested with GAFD and regular Gmail.
