Bug Description
Binary package hint: clamav
I have just installed clamav/clamd to find it reporting its virus database is out of date; attempting to update it either fails or says it is already the newest.
All clamav settings default. iptables firewall on. An error occurred in the clamav-base configure step during the first installation, but an apparently error-free reinstallation did not remove the problem.
~$ clamscan eicar

A sligntly newer version is available in the edgy-backports repository. I don't know if it still has signature support or not. We are working on getting newer clamav versions backported, but because clamav changed their interfaces it requires a lot of testing and will take some time.
