Bug Description

update-manager 1:0.194.1, Ubuntu 13.10

See the screenshot.
Error messages like this enrage me.
"The update information is outdated. This may be caused by bla bla bla" (another thing that enrages me is an error message that I cannot copy and paste).
This tells me that there is a problem and doesn't give me the most basic information I need to fix it: what repository or file could not be reached.
It then says "Please update manually by selecting Show Updates bla bla bla". If I do so, I would expect to be able to finally see which repository is failing, but no: i just get a popup that says "your computer is up to date".

<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareUpdates#alert>: "Status of software updates should never be presented in the menu bar or a notification bubble."
