apps play sound but kmix doesn't control it

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmix

I've just installed Kubuntu 7.04 amd64 and although it was possible to playback sound from the start, I've noticed that kmix isn't capable of controlling it. So I have sound at full blast on my computer and no apparent way to control it.
