Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.14 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Note:
- In all cases, touchscreen works, without a cursor, or onbord

Scenario 1 - Suspend, followed by resume after a short period (few mins). The login screen appears, keyboard and touchpad does not work, however the settings button appear at the top left corner. Suspending again (using touchscreen) and resuming causes the keyboard and touchpad to work

Scenario 2 - Suspend, followed by resume after a long period. The login screen appears, keyboard and touchpad does not work, the settings button does not appear at the top left corner. Need to hard reset.

If reproducible, could you please provide the missing information from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend ?

Tested kernel. Bug still exists.

Following the instructions, the computer suspends, and resumes. However this method does not cause the system to be locked, and the login screen does not appear (thus this is where the problem lies)
