[Lenovo ThinkPad T440p] Wheel emulation does not work with button-less TrackPoint

With my ThinkPad T440 laptop the Trackpad wheel emulation does not work when pressing middle button + moving the Trackpoint.

I tried synaptics 1.7.99 from :

but was very unusable (only able to move mouse cursor when pressing the clickpad !).
