keyboard doesnt work after hibernation lockscreen

when i open the lid to my laptop the keybaord doesnt work in the lockscreen unless i go up to the power cog and go to switch account then i can log back in just fine it only happens when my laptop lid has been shut for more then 5 mins... This is for ubuntu 14.04

Probably seeing the same here on an Thinkpad X230 with Ubuntu 14.04. Didn't have this issue until recently. The keyboard input doesn't work until I interact with the icons in the top-bar. Just clicking and dismissing the cog menu is enough to make keyboard input work again.

The bug I'm seeing must be https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1349128 . Not 100% sure whether it is exactly the same as the initial reporter's here so I won't mark it as a duplicate myself.
