Bug Description

In Trusty with all installed updates it is not possible to make ScreenShot to clipboard with <Ctrl+PrintScreen>, <Ctrl+Alt+PrintScreen>, <Ctrl+Shift+PrintScreen> keyboard buttons.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Ubuntu 14.04.
2. Login to Unity session.
3a. Try to make screenshot of the whole desktop with <Ctrl+PrintScreen>
3b. Try to make screenshot of active window with <Ctrl+Alt+PrintScreen>
3c. Try to make screenshot of selected area with <Ctrl+Shift+PrintScreen>

Expected results:
* Corresponding screenshot is saved in clipboard and may be inserted to other applications with <Ctrl+V>.

Actual results:
* Screenshot is not saved to clipboard.

Notes:
1. This bug is complementary to bug 1282649 (Unable to make screenshot with <PrintScreen> key in Unity session in Trusty).
2. I use default shortcuts <Super+Space> and <Shift+Super+Space> for keyboard layout switching.
3. I did some tests (see my Google Docs table - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao5e713Ig9g_dHpGYVlMZ2JuYXdXdEtmUi1QbGxsYXc&usp=sharing). In Ubuntu 12.04 (with no matter Unity or GNOME sessions) the full working list of shortcuts used for screenshoting is as follows: <PrintScreen>, <Alt+PrintScreen>, <Ctrl+PrintScreen>, <Shift+PrintScreen>, <Ctrl+Alt+PrintScreen>, <Ctrl+Shift+PrintScreen>. All these hotkeys work normally in 14.04 too on GNOME FlashBack session (Compiz and Metacity).

Thank you for your bug report. I can't confirm that, using ctrl-printscreen does the screenshot animation and I can paste the image in e.g inkscape

I tested it again on other installation of Ubuntu 14.04 which was updated from Ubuntu 13.10 - <Ctrl+*+PrintScreen> shortcuts work here, but in clean install (this bug report) they do not. Tested on guest session and normal user session (all ~/.* directories removed).

Made a clean install of 14.04 beta2 (4cf9e5ef2c1c362317c90312c76cfda0 *ubuntu-14.04-beta2-desktop-i386.iso) and got all shortcuts for screenshots working on all sessions - Unity, GMOME Compiz, GNOME Metacity.
It's great! Thank you!

I install Ubuntu 14.04 beta2 today (2014-03-30) and the error persist:

CTRL+PrintScreen and SHIFT+PrintScreen not save or copy image for anywhere
