Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.14 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I did install the newest kernel I could find:

con@con-laptop:~$ uname -a
Linux con-laptop 3.14.0-031400rc7-generic #201403162235 SMP Mon Mar 17 02:57:06 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The iPhone 4S now respects my selection of "don't trust" and does not pop the question up again.

Then again, I get Linux to popup "The device 'iPhone (Hogbert)' is locked. Enter the passcode ..." over and over again, when I click "Cancel".

Selection of "Try again" gives another message: "Unable to mount iPhone (Hogbert) Permission denied [OK]", once.

I am not quite sure if the bug is fixed or not.

I'm pressing "Cancel" until eternity and get the same popup on the screen over and over again.

In addition I cannot follow the instruction on the popup: "Enter the passcode on the device and click 'Try again'" because the device in question (iPhone 4S) does not prompt me for a password.

Also, if I press "Trust" when the iPhone asks whether I trust this computer, I get the same popup "Do you trust this computer" over and over again. Only selection that makes sense is "Don't trust", alas.

I do not know whether this is a kernel or GUI problem, but there still is a problem. So, I add the tag:

'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
