Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-turbogears

According to http://trac.turbogears.org/wiki/ChangeLog, support for Python 2.5 was added in TurboGears 1.0.2.2. Ubuntu 7.04 ship version 1.0 of TurboGears. Thus, the shebang line in /usr/bin/tg-admin should specify python2.4.

This is rather critical, as TurboGears 1.0 will not run at all under Python 2.5. As merely having Python 2.5 installed will make the /usr/bin/python soflink point to it, that mean tg-admin will systematically crash at startup when you do.

Thanks for your report. Your description of the problem is accurate. This has been fixed in Gutsy (i.e. we have a newer version of turbogears there, which works with python 2.5). In the meantime, specifying python2.4 on the command line should work.
