Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdm
issueing
ssh server sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart
Only *stops* the kdm - never start because of unneccessary terminal requirements: Error reported is
sehe@sehe-laptop:~$ ssh server sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart
Stopping K Display Manager: kdm.
'unknown': unknown terminal type.
Typical workaround:
sehe@sehe-laptop:~$ ssh server -t sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart
Stopping K Display Manager: kdm not running (/var/run/kdm.pid not found).
Starting K Display Manager: kdm.
Connection to server closed.
The init scripts should never require console terminals, especially not a-symmetrical (allow stop *and* start, or allow none)

Good morning,
I am wondering if you are still having problems with the kdm init-script prevent restart? Could you please update the status of this bug? If you are still having issues, please include the version of Kubuntu and the version of KDE you are using.
Thanks,
Jonathan
