Hello and thank you for this bug report!

Is it possible to get a backtrace of this crash with GDB in order to know what's the problem exactly?
More details about that there: http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=ddd&lang=en

Changed in cairo-dock-core:
importance: Undecided → High

Sorry, it's seems we forgot to answer...

According to the back trace, this bug it's due to your video drivers. Do you have this bug without the OpenGL backend? ("cairo-dock -c")

Is it also possible to update your system (by installing all updates) and install the latest version of the dock and check if you still have this bug?
If yes, what's your video card and which videos drivers are you using?

    glxinfo | grep OpenGL
    lspci | grep VGA

Hi !

Realy that is a long time without any answer or feedback, but ok, no problem !

Cairo Dock is doing many errors, a lot of these most commom:
1. When i start pc, start KDE, sometimes when cairo dock is ready when i mouse over this do no not resize and open item, i will be do this by kde menu
2. When i open many programs, cairo dock will be frozen, it doesn't auto hide, and crashes, i will be kill this process
3. It creates many killwindow processes, without i click in WindowsKiller item

[jfilipe@ci-jfilipe ~]$ glxinfo | grep OpenGL
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Q35
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 9.2.4
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20
OpenGL extensions:

[jfilipe@ci-jfilipe ~]$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

If i use it without opengl, it doesnt had effects, right ?
How do i use the mode without opengl ?

Hello,

Do you still have these bugs with the latest version that you recently compiled?

Effects can be a bit different but you'll still have then (except when the mouse is over icons)

> How do i use the mode without opengl ?

You can change the default mode by launching it once with this command:

    $ cairo-dock -A

Hi !

I had these bugs with recent compliled version, but yesterday i had compiled the last version, and with the times i can see if it continues with this bugs or not, but for now is very early ;-)

I had experimented without opengl, and the effects is most reduced, than using opengl :-(
But if my Intel video card does not support right opengl, i need use it without opengl ...

Is not a good ideia use, it asks every time
$ cairo-dock -A
If i want use it without opengl, will be beter use
$ cariro-dock -c

If you want to change the default backend, you've to launch this command, check the box to remember this choice and then, every time you'll launch the dock with "cairo-dock" command (without any other parameter), the dock will use the backend you just set ;-)

Or you can launch the dock with this "-c" parameter.

$ cairo-dock -c

And this works well :-D
I need to adjust somme effects that not shows the animations because the change using opengl to without this ;-)

Dont had crashed any more times ... ;-)

Maybe my Intel video card does not support opengl ... !

Hi!

It's maybe due to your video drivers (Mesa/intel).

Feel free to reopen this bug after having updated your video drivers (and feel free to report this problem to mesa devs ;-) )

I had upgraded kernel to last version, and mesa, but the bug persists ... !
Maybe in the Fedora 21 will be fixed, with the exciting KDE Frameworks 5 ;-)
