I don't know if this could be of any help, but after this crash all keyboard shortcuts stopped working, even Ctrl+Alt+T for terminal.

In my system, running Vivid, the SegvAnalysis shows the source as "0x18(%rax)", but the address is 0x00000018 (which it also says it's not located in a known VMA). The StacktraceTop shows pa_hashmap_new_full instead of pa_hashmap_new. Apart from that, the details are basically identical to those of this bug report.

Incomplete. Unfortunately crashing inside malloc means the process heap had already become corrupt some time before the crash happened. So we are unable to debug the origin of the heap corruption here without exact detailed steps to reproduce the problem.
