Bug Description

Its not ad on hard ware. I am trying to find drivers for DVD players and codec translaters. Nothing down loaded so far works. some wont even show up in my down load folder. I just installed 13.10 and am just learning it.

Your bug title and description are rather ambiguous. You can play most media (sound and video) files by installing the following packages:

gst-plugins-bad1.0
gst-plugins-ugly1.0
gst-libav1.0

If you want to play back movies on DVD (other than ones that you filmed yourself) you will also need to install the libdvdcss2 package. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs for more information.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
