Outlook.com not open new e-mail when clicked on mailto link

Bug Description
Mailbox: Outlook.com
When I click on a regular mailto link on the web, the application does not redirect me correctly to a new e-mail editor but rather open the mailbox instead only. I do not have any other mailbox to try to replicate this, so this might be Outlook.com related only.
I did not use the app before MS redesigned it and renamed it from Hotmail, so I have no idea if this worked before or not.
